Why I Care

In 2017, at the age of 54, my step-mom Micheletta (Mike) Roberts was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s.

This particular dementia progressed quickly and my dad became her full-time caregiver in 2018. Dad is an angel walking this earth.
Although Mike has four daughters that live in close proximity it is not uncommon for one person to bear the burden of caregiving.

It is tougher on the caregiver than the person with care needs. I strive to ensure that if someone can qualify for protection that they get it.

The cost is astronomical and planning in advance may and mos likely will help you and you family.

I know it could have, and would be, helping my dad.

Learn With Moving Mountains

Many years ago I learned the hard way how important planning it is to plan for the cost of care.

Many find it to be a difficult discussion which is understandable. Many times we do not know when we will need care; if at all.

I want you to close your eyes and pretend when you open them you need care for an extended period of time.

Now, who or what asset is going to pay for your care? And who will be providing the care? And where will you recieve care?

These are some of the items we plan for; but most importantly is to realize the risk, the cost, and create a plan to pay for care should you need it.

You’ll be doing your children, family and spouse a favor by planning!
